Fire Prevention Week – Protect your family

 

Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 (Halifax, NS) – Fire Prevention Week is October 7 – 13. This year’s theme is “Have Two Ways Out”.

 

Fire escape planning should be a family activity where at least two escape routes from each room are identified.  As part of the plan, there should be a meeting place that everyone knows in advance, away from the burning structure.  Practising fire escape plans will ensure your family’s safety in case of fire.

 

Working smoke alarms do save lives. Having a fire escape plan and working smoke alarms are preventive measures that everyone should have to protect themselves and their families.
