Invitation to Media

HRM to Launch New Bike Route Map

(Thursday, May 5/2005)-- HRM wants to take some courageous, strong, and well-balanced reporters for a ride.

To mark the launch of HRM’s first Bike Route Map, we would like media representatives to come for a bike ride with us on one the municipality’s designated, marked bike routes.
Great chance to limber up for Spring and get a real appreciation of what it’s like for cyclists trying to make their way through a busy urban centre.

If you’re interested, bring along your own bike and helmet. If you’re interested and don’t have a bike and/or helmet, we’ll try to find something for you.

The new HRM Bike Map is a product of the municipality’s “Blueprint for a Bicycle Friendly HRM” plan, and a response to the growing popularity of cycling among many residents who are environmentally and health conscious.

Those interested, please contact John O’Brien at 490-6531 by Monday, May 9, 2005.

When: Wednesday, May 11, 2005

Time:   10:30 AM

Where: Corner of Quinpool Road and Vernon Street, in front of Cyclesmith     Shop.
