Temporary lane closures in downtown Halifax
Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012 (Halifax, NS) – HRM wishes to advise that due to a sinkhole forming in the intersection at Barrington Street, Upper Water Street and Cornwallis Street, some lanes are temporarily closed.
Barrington Street northbound is reduced to one lane. Motorists approaching the intersection from Upper Water Street must turn right on to Barrington Street.
Halifax Water and HRM staff are on site securing the area. Steel plates will installed as a temporary measure until the weather improves and the permanent repairs can be made.
When the steel plates are installed, all lanes will be re-opened. It is anticipated that the plate installation will be complete by 4 p.m.
