Annual HRM Arbor Day Ceremony to Take Place in Bedford
(Monday, May 7/2001)-- Halifax Regional Municipality's annual Arbor Day celebration will take place this year in Bedford on Thursday, May 10th.
A ceremony to mark the occasion has been organized for 10:30 a.m. at the Basinview Elementary School, 273 Basinview Drive, in Bedford.
Students in Mrs. Budden's Grade 4 class will be participating in the event, which includes the ceremonial planting of a Red Oak tree. The invocation this year will involve an aboriginal Sweet Grass ceremony, conducted by Metif Elder Kathy Osborne.
