(Tuesday, September 18/2001)-- Mayor Peter Kelly, on behalf of Halifax Regional Council, announced today that it has accepted the resignation of Chief Administrative Officer Ken Meech, pursuant to agreed upon terms and conditions and as per HRM's contractual obligations.
The resignation is effective immediately.
Mayor Kelly stated that Council and Mr. Meech felt that his resignation was in the best interest and of mutual benefit to the Halifax Regional Municipality.
Mayor Kelly concluded that Regional Council thanked Mr. Meech for his contribution to the municipality and for his accomplishments prior to, during the transition, and during the past five years since amalgamation.
