SNOW Lines Receives More than 13,000 Calls in First Season

(Tuesday, May 7/2002)-- The Halifax Regional Municipality's winter parking information line 490-SNOW (7669) received more than 13,000 calls during its first season of operation.

The information line enable residents of HRM to obtain up-to-date details about the status of snow/ice clearing operations in the Eastern, Central and Western areas of the municipality. The service was a joint effort of Public Works and Transportation and the HRM Corporate Call Centre.

The SNOW Line went into operation on January 11, 2002 and was taken out of service on April 30th.
