Gottingen Street to Hold First "Open Market" This Weekend
(Thursday, June 27/2002) -- Looking for something different to do this long holiday weekend?
Why not attend the first Gottingen Street Open Market this Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Free parking will be provided in the Staples store lot, at the corner of Gottingen and Cogswell Streets
District 12 Councillor Dawn Sloane says the Open Market will feature more than 30 vendors, various groups will provide the musical entertainment and there will be Buskers featuring a variety of acts.
Councillor Sloane said "I applaud the organizers of this event for taking this positive step for the community to show off its wares. We are trying to put life back into Gottingen Street and I think the Open Market is a tremendous step in that direction. Hopefully, it will become an annual event."
