New Version of Successful Art Map to be Launched

(Monday, April 28/2003)-- The 2003 version of the Halifax Art Map will be officially launched later this week during a ceremony in Halifax Hall, City Hall.

The new map is an expanded version of the very successful urban Halifax/ Dartmouth art map, the first of its kind for HRM, that was introduced last year. The 2003 Art Map represents the entire geographic region of the municipality.

The art map has proven to be an effective method to expand information about the many talented artists and artisans who live and work in our community, as well as the studios and galleries that operate in HRM.

A need was identified to help promote the growing arts community to both residents and visitors alike. The map is an effective way to locate studios and galleries, making their addresses easily available to the public, as well as to present a thumbnail representation of art works available.

When: Thursday, May 1, 2003

Time: 7 p.m.

Where: Halifax Hall, City Hall, 1841 Argyle Street, Halifax
