Hurricane Juan - Storm Debris Collection - Final Sweep
(Friday, October 10, 2003 - For Immediate Release)
Residents are advised that HRM Works crews will be conducting a final collection of fallen trees and brush left from last week's hurricane, on October 14th, 15th, and 16th, concluding Friday, October 17th at midnight. Please note that this will be the final collection effort on the part of HRM Public Works & Transportation for the HRM urban and suburban areas. Residents should place remaining fallen trees and brush curbside by midnight, Monday, October 13th.
Please try to ensure piles do not obstruct sidewalks, catch basins or fire hydrants. Debris piled on sidewalks hampers the efficiency of repair crews. Brush covering fire hydrants can hamper fire rescue crews in the event of an emergency.
