Local Shopping Centre to Raise Funds for Park
(Friday, May 28/2004)-- Mayor Peter Kelly will officially launch the Halifax Shopping Centre's special fund-raising campaign for Point Pleasant Park early next week.
The shopping centre is hoping to raise $100,000 for Point Pleasant by offering seedlings for residents of HRM to purchase and plant on their property.
The campaign is primarily targeting shoppers at the Halifax Shopping Centre, but the fund-raising effort also has a corporate component. The campaign begins on June 1 and continues throughout the month.
