Five Heros to be Recognized in HRM

(Wednesday, October 19, 2005) - Mayor Peter Kelly, Superintendent Gordon Barnett of the Halifax Detachment of the RCMP and members of Halifax Regional Council will honour five HRM residents as heros during a ceremony Thursday at Halifax City Hall.

The presentations will recognize five HRM residents who found themselves in extraordinary circumstances and showed outstanding citizenship with their heroic, life-saving efforts.

Who:       Mayor Peter Kelly, Superintendent Gordon Barnett
                and members of Halifax Regional Council

What:      Presentations will be made to Matthew Billard,
                Shawn Darby, David Major, Dean Metzler and
                Christopher Duggan (posthumous)

When:      Thursday, October 20, 2005 at 1 pm

Where:     Halifax Hall, Main Floor, City Hall, 1841 Argyle Street
