Kearney Lake Water Quality

(Friday, April 7, 2006) Microbiological sampling of Little Kearney Lake and Kearney Lake, has been performed by the Nova Scotia Department of the Environment and Labour (NSDEL) as a result of a wastewater discharge to Kearney Lake that occurred on Tuesday, April 4, 2006.

The Medical Officer of Health and NSDEL have informed HRM that sampling results indicate that no surface water quality impairment has occurred as a result of the pumping station wastewater bypass.

HRM staff and the NSDEL will continue to sample and monitor the water in Little Kearney Lake and Kearney Lake to ensure that the quality is maintained.
