Tour of Harbour Solutions Project Sites - Rescheduled

(Tuesday, April 11/06)-- Members of the media are invited to attend the rescheduled update tour of the Harbour Solutions Project (HSP) with Mayor Peter Kelly and members of Halifax Regional Council at 8:45 AM, Friday, April 21st.

The tour will include site visits to the wastewater treatment plants (WTP) under construction in both Halifax and Dartmouth. Project and construction officials will be available to update Councillors and reporters on HSP progress, as well as to respond to questions.

The media is asked to gather at the Upper Water Street/Cornwallis Street entrance to the Halifax wastewater treatment plant site at 8:45 AM, Friday, April 21st to begin the tour.

A harbour craft will be available to transport officials and reporters from the Halifax site to the Dartmouth STP site. This will enable visuals from the waterside.

Note: All persons attending the update tour are required to wear safety boots, safety vests, safety goggles and hard hats. Those without equipment will not be permitted to go along on the tour.

Councillors and members of the media are asked to confirm their attendance on the tour prior to 11 a.m. Thursday, April 20th with James Campbell, PIO for the Harbour Solutions Project, at 490-4604.

When:    Friday, April 21st.

Time:      8:45 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.

Where:   Halifax wastewater plant site, front entrance is on Upper Water, just north of HMCS Scotian naval reserve unit.
