Downtown Halifax Road Construction

(Friday, May 25, 2007) - Attention motorists, Harbour Solutions Project construction has closed Lower Water Street from Sackville to Prince Streets. The expected duration of construction is 4 weeks. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

Truck traffic traveling north on Lower Water Street from Terminal Road and Marginal Road should use the alternative truck route on Morris Street.

Motorists are also advised that beginning on or after Tuesday, May 29th Hollis Street between Bishop and Morris Streets will be reduced to 1 lane traffic on Hollis Street. The scheduled duration of construction is 4 weeks.

There will be no parking in the work zone. The sidewalk on both sides of the street should remain open at all times. Municipal service disruptions, if required, will be of short duration and affected residents and businesses will be notified.

Please note, all shops and services adjacent to the work zones will remain open during the construction period.

The hours of work will be Monday to Friday 7:00am to 6:00pm, with weekends as required.

Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to ensure smooth traffic flow. On site personnel will also maintain communication with local residents and businesses to help minimize disruption.
