HRM Urges Residents to Be Safe, Patient In Aftermath of Storm

(NOON, Sunday, November 4/07)-- HRM is working with other service providers, including Nova Scotia Power, to restore all services that may have been disrupted as a result of the overnight storm.

In the meantime, HRM urges all residents to be patient and to allow the various crews to do their work.

? Motorists and pedestrians are urged to exercise extreme caution when travelling in areas where there are downed power lines or other debris on the streets and sidewalks as a result of the high winds overnight.

? The causeway on the Cow Bay Road in Eastern Passage, from the ornamental moose to Hartlin Point, remains closed to traffic and will be unaccessible for the next 24 top 48 hours.

? All residents are reminded that 9-1-1 is for EMERGENCIES ONLY.

? For all non-emergency calls related to services that HRM provides or to report downed trees or infrastructure damage, please contact the Corporate Call Centre at 490-4000.

? To report a power outage, residents must contact Nova Scotia Power at 1-877-428-6004.

HRM will continue to provide updates as new developments arise.
