Burning Ban Lifted

(Monday, May 25, 2009) - Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency advise residents of HRM that the burning ban on open fires has been lifted.

HRM residents are still required to follow the requirements outlined in By-Law 103 and to check the website for further information at www.halifax.ca/fire.

Residents are also encouraged to continue to use caution when having fires in and around woodlands and to ensure you have the means to control or extinguish a fire. Also, be cautious of changing weather conditions, especially wind.

Future open air burning bans may still occur. For information on wildfire prevention, see our website at www.halifax.ca/fire.
