Mayor Kelly and Premier Dexter to Re-enact
Abbey Road Album Cover Photo Shoot

(Tuesday, July 7, 2009) - On the eve of Paul McCartney’s only Canadian tour date and to celebrate HRM as an international event destination, Mayor Peter Kelly and Premier Darrell Dexter will show their support for Halifax as an event capital by taking part in a re-enactment of the Beatle’s legendary Abbey Road album cover photo shoot.

The Abbey Road album cover photograph, which features Paul McCartney bare-footed and out of step with the other three, has become one of the most famous and most imitated album covers in recording history.

Mayor Kelly will play McCartney; Premier Dexter will play Ringo.
