Community Visioning Kicks Off in Woodside with a Community Walkabout

(Friday, June 18, 2010) - Councillor Jackie Barkhouse and HRM staff invite residents to join them on a walking tour of the Woodside community as part of the kick off celebrations for community visioning in Woodside. Residents are asked to share information about their community, tell us why Woodside is a great place to live and work, and to join their neighbours in celebrating the good things the community has to offer, all while learning how to get involved in the visioning process.

Date:        Saturday, June 26, 2010
Time         11 a.m. (walk starts at 11:15 a.m.)
Location:  Parking lot at NSCC Waterfront Campus

Distance is approximately 1.5 km / 25 minutes. Dress for the weather. There will be a BBQ & refreshments, free giveaways and free face painting following the walk.

VisionHRM is a community-led initiative. Community Visioning provides an informal opportunity for communities to think creatively about how they could function, how they might change, and what they might look like over a 15-25-year time frame. It is a process of interpreting and implementing the Regional Plan within HRM’s unique communities.
