(Thursday, September 9, 2010) - Attention motorists, the intersection of Grosvenor Road and Kearney Lake Road is closed to vehicle traffic. Through traffic flow on Kearney Lake Road is being maintained.

The estimated duration of construction is September 9th - 27th.

The hours of work will be Monday to Friday 7:00am to 6:00pm, with weekends as required.

This work is part of the water main sliplining project being undertaken by Dexter Construction on behalf of Halifax Water.

The affected area includes the following:

· No access to Grosvenor Road from Kearney Lake Road. Access to Grosvenor Road will be via Castle Hill Drive or Cresthaven Drive.
· No access to Kearney Lake Road from Grosvenor Road. Access to Kearney Lake Road will be via Castle Hill Drive.
· Driveway access on Grosvenor Road between Castle Hill Drive and Kearney Lake Road will be maintained, however there will be no through traffic to Kearney Lake Road.
· Traffic plan will be in effect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to ensure smooth traffic flow. On site personnel will also maintain communication with local residents and businesses to help minimize disruption.
Motorists are asked to use alternate routes where possible, to proceed carefully through the work zone, and are reminded that speed fines double in work zones. Motorists are also asked to use extreme caution and be very diligent when driving through the area as it is a busy school zone.
