Natural Gas Pipeline Installation on Cole Harbour Road from the Portland Hills Transit Terminal to Forest Hills Parkway

(Tuesday, September 28/10) - Motorists are advised that, beginning September 27, Heritage Gas, in conjunction with its contractor, will be installing a new plastic natural gas main on Cole Harbour Road between the Portland Hills Transit Terminal and Forest Hills Parkway. This pipeline project will extend the natural gas distribution system to Cole Harbour Place and the surrounding area. To help minimize the traffic impacts, the use of a directional drill will be used to install the pipeline, however some excavation will still be necessary.

The work area will generally be located on the outbound (south) side of the road. Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times; normal traffic on the inbound (north) side of the road, and a one lane reduction on the outbound (south) side of the road will be in effect near the work site. Both outbound lanes will be re-opened to traffic between 4PM and 6PM, Monday to Friday.

It is anticipated that this portion of the project will be completed in three to four weeks. Where possible, motorists should plan alternate routes for the time of this construction.

Heritage Gas and HRM apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
