HRM Hosting New Year’s Day Public Skating on the

Canada Games Oval

 

(December 30, 2010) HRM is adding another date to its public skating schedule for the Canada Games Oval on the North Common. A public skate is now set for New Year’s Day between 1 PM and 4 PM.

HRM residents are also reminded of the Family New Year’s Eve Event for the Oval on Friday, December 31. Entertainment begins at 5:30 PM. There will be fun for all, including skating on the oval, ECMA Award-winning band entertainers Razzamatazz, fireworks, an early New Year’s Eve countdown and music by DJ Skratch Bastid as well as the Telfer Band.

The “A” New Year’s Eve entertainment taking place in Grand Parade will be broadcast on site onto a big screen so those at the Oval can enjoy the traditional annual event as well. Skating will run until midnight so skaters can welcome in the 2011 on the “Big Ice” on the Common.

5:30 pm DJ Skratch Bastid
6:30 pm to 7:25 pm Children's Event - Razzamatazz
7:25 pm to 7:30 pm Fireworks
7:30 pm Music by the Telfer Band and DJ Skratch Bastid
