HRM hosts Heritage Quest: A Social Heritage Experience April 16-18

(April 11, 2011) - HRM Community Relations and Cultural Affairs will host Heritage Quest: A Social Heritage Experience from April 16-18th. The celebration marks World Heritage Day on April 18 and officially launches the development of HRM’s first Social Heritage Strategy. Events will be hosted across HRM for families and people of all ages to experience HRM’s heritage. The weekend events include:

Saturday, April 16
Heritage Quest Headquarters, Mic Mac Mall (next to Eddie Bauer store)
Time: 10:00 am to 5:00 pm

Heritage Quest ‘The Game’, various locations downtown Halifax (TBA)
Time: Noon to 4:00 pm

Heritage Quest at the Tangier Gold Mines, Tangier Gold Mine
Time: Noon to 4:00 pm

Heritage Quest Social & NS Archives Film Night, St Paul’s Church
Time: 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Heritage at the Halifax Regional Libraries, at all Halifax Regional Library branches
Featuring: Genealogy One-to-One Consultation at Spring Garden Rd. Memorial Public Library by appointment. Call 490-5710 to register.

Sunday, April 17
Heritage Quest at the Halifax Seaport Market, Halifax Seaport Market
Time: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

Heritage Quest Memory Lane Heritage Village, Memory Lane Heritage Village, Lake Charlotte
Time: 11:00 am to 4:00 pm

Cole Harbour Heritage Farm Stone Soup Dinner & Music Night, Cole Harbour Heritage Farm
Time: 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Monday April 18
World Heritage Day: A short event is being planned to mark this special day (details TBA)
