Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency Thanks Volunteer Firefighters During Volunteer Week

(Tuesday, April 12, 2011) - It’s National Volunteer Week and the Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency would like to acknowledge the enormous contributions by their dedicated volunteer firefighters who give their time and their effort to helping their communities.

Across HRM, approximately 700 professional and enthusiastic volunteer firefighters respond to over 4000 emergency calls each year.

Volunteering provides us with a sense of connectedness and well-being and helps us to build better, stronger, healthier communities. A volunteer’s commitment and passion is truly inspiring. We truly appreciate all you do for your communities! Many thanks.

Volunteer recruitment campaigns are on-going. Applications can be picked up from local volunteer fire stations, or at HRFE Headquarters, 3rd floor, Alderney Gate, Dartmouth.
