PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Canada Day Transit Service

(Tuesday, June 28, 2011) Halifax, NS - Metro Transit is pleased to offer enhanced ferry service on July 1 for HRM citizens attending Canada Day celebrations. Meanwhile, a number of bus routes will also experience minor delays and re-routings to accommodate local parades. Metro Transit passengers should anticipate some delays. The service changes include:

FERRY SERVICE
The Woodside Ferry will not be in operation as per the regular holiday schedule. However, extra service will be provided on the Alderney Ferry route as follows:

Alderney Ferry Schedule (July 1)
7:30 am - 12:00 pm (every 30 minutes)
12:00 pm - 12:00 am (every 15 minutes)
12:00 am - 1:00 am (every 30 minutes, last trip departs Halifax at 12:45 am)

BUS SERVICE
MetroLink and MetroX will not be in operation as per the regular holiday schedule. Temporary detours will be required on several bus routes to accommodate the following Canada Day Parades; passengers should anticipate minor service delays.

Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo Parade
The Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo parade will be held on Spring Garden Road from 10:30 - 11:30 am, with buses detouring via South Park Street, to Morris Street, to Barrington Street, and vice versa.

Sackville Patriot Days Parade
The Patriot Days parade will be held on Sackville Drive between Sobeys and Rock Church from 9:00 - 10:00 am, with buses detouring via the Old Sackville Highway, to Sackville Terminal, and vice versa.
