Notification of Public Hearing Continuation for Case No. 00971: Request by Halkirk Properties Limited to amend the Halifax Municipal Planning Strategy (MPS) and Halifax Peninsula Land Use By-law (LUB) to permit a mixed-use development on the southern portion of the "Keith's Brewery" lands, bounded by Lower Water, Bishop, Hollis and Salter Street, by development agreement. The proposed MPS / LUB amendments include a boundary change to include the subject lands within the Central Business District and CBD Sub-Area of the Halifax Waterfront Development Area, site-specific policy to clarify building height, massing and setback requirements for the proposed development and provisions for the restoration of the exterior facade of Alexander Keith Hall (Civic 1471 Hollis Street).
This public hearing will continue in order to hear from those members of the public whose names remained on the June 17, 2008 speakers list for this matter.
