Fire Personnel Reminds Property Owners/Managers To Keep
Exits Clear of Ice and Snow
(Tuesday - January 25, 2005) - Property owners/managers are reminded that all exits must be cleared of snow and ice to allow for proper exit during an emergency. Exits should be clear prior to the business opening.
Also, please ensure that all sprinkler and standpipe connections are cleared from snow and ice.
Residents and business owners should also adopt a fire hydrant - if you know there is a hydrant near your home or business, please take the time to shovel it out. The home or business you protect could be your own.
Fire prevention officers have the ability to issue summary offence tickets for blocked exits in the amount of $215.00.
