UPdate-- Apartment Fire- 20 dawn Street, Fairview
(Tuesday, February 22/05)-- All of those left homeless as a result of the weekend fire at 200 Dawn Street have found alternative accommodations.
However, a temporary information centre will remain open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Salvation Army facility in Fairview for the next few days, for those who may require assistance from various government social agencies or charitable organizations.
Meanwhile, residents who were evacuated from the 25 apartment units at 16 Dawn Street due to heavy smoke over the weekend may not be able to return home until this Friday.
A new temporary electrical service must be installed in the building and it may take Nova Scotia Power a few days to complete.
Meanwhile, Halifax Fire Services is continuing to investigate the cause of the fire at 20 dawn Street.
