Continuing Road Work on Lower Water Street at Sackville Street

Friday, June 22, 2012 - Halifax Water crews will be working throughout the weekend to repair the sewer line on Lower Water Street. The lane drop on Lower Water Street, and the closure on Sackville Street, will remain in effect throughout the evening rush hour and weekend.

Once work is completed for the day, the site will be barricaded and signed accordingly. The lane drop on Lower Water Street will remain in effect. Sackville Street will remain closed from Bedford Row to Lower Water Street, and Lower Water Street will be reduced to one lane northbound.

The marked crosswalk at the north side of the intersection will be closed once again, however traffic control personnel will be at the south side of the intersection to assist pedestrians across the street away from the excavation.

Halifax Water apologizes for any inconvenience this disruption may cause. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes if possible. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
