Live music and fireworks to celebrate summerfest

Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012 (Halifax, NS) – Join the community celebration marking George Dixon’s annual summerfest this Saturday, Aug. 18 from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Take in the outdoor concert featuring Asia and Nu Gruv and DJ while enjoying a free community barbeque and refreshments. There will be games and activities for the kids including bouncy castles, face painting, cake walk, reading tent, glow in the dark art, a police horse and fire truck. The evening will close with a fireworks finale.

All events are taking place at the George Dixon Recreation Centre outdoor field.

Note: The rain date for the event is Thursday, Aug. 23.
