Open Air Burning Ban Implemented

Tuesday, July 10, 2012 (Halifax, NS) - Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency (HRFE) today issued an open air burning ban due to decreasing relative humidity, increasing air temperatures and a lack of precipitation.

All HRM burning permits for areas within the municipality are cancelled at this time and no open fires are permitted. This ban does not include approved outdoor solid fuel burning appliances (i.e. chimneas) at this time pending weather conditions this week.

The ban will remain in place until further notice.

For more information on the open air burning ban, contact HRFE Fire Prevention services at 490-5546.
