Overnight parking ban will be enforced 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 30

(Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012) - Please be advised that the overnight winter parking ban will be enforced overnight, from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday while municipal operations works to clear streets of snow and ice expected to begin tonight.

Please have vehicles off the street during snow and ice conditions to accommodate effective winterworks operations. The current forecast has snow starting overnight with an accumulation 25 to 30 centimetres in some areas.

Municipal crews and contracted services will begin work with anti icing measures ahead of the snow.

Residents should also be aware that under section 139 of the Motor Vehicle Act, tickets can be issued and vehicles can be towed any time they are parked in a manner that interferes with snow clearing.
