Stratford Way Park Community Art Project

(Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is encouraging everyone to come out and help artist Julie Adamson Miller create a large pebble stone mosaic for the newly redeveloped Stratford Way Park located off Lacewood Drive, Clayton Park (near the Keshen Goodman Library).  Miller will be hosting a series of free community art workshops at the Canada Games Centre from Tuesday, Sept. 27 to Friday, Sept. 30.

All are welcome to attend these workshops; children under age 10 must be accompanied by an adult.  Workshops will take place from noon to 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Main Hall of the Canada Games Centre, 26 Thomas Raddall Drive, Halifax.

On Saturday, Oct. 1, the community is also invited to meet at Stratford Way Park from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to help install stepping stones created by grade 9 students from Park West Elementary and grade 12 students from Halifax West. A rain date has been scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 2.

The Stratford Way Park Community Art Project is supported by HRM and a community arts grant from the 4Cs Foundation (www.4csfoundation.com).
