New Assessment Notices To Be Mailed Out Next Week
(Friday, January 8/99)-- Halifax Regional Municipality has been advised by the Provincial Assessment Office that the new 1999 assessment notices are scheduled to be mailed to property owners on Monday, January 11.
However, loading of the new data on HRM's assessment roll is not expected to be completed until the end of next week.
Mail-out of the new assessment notices usually prompts numerous telephone calls to HRM and the Provincial Assessment Office from customers wanting to know the impact of new assessments on their total tax bill.
The best information that can be provided at this point is an estimate, based on the new
assessment applied to last year's tax rate. However, tax rates are subject to change and this would
be strictly an estimate and customers should be aware of this.
