(Friday, May 5/2000)-- The main focus of Halifax Regional Municipality's Arbour Day celebrations this year will be the 250th anniversary of the founding of Dartmouth.
Mayor Walter Fitzgerald, assisted by students from Bi-centennial School, will plant a red oak seedling in the Dartmouth Common to commemorate Arbour Day and Dartmouth's anniversary.
In addition, the Town of Wolfville has provided HRM with 250 young sugar maple trees which will be planted by school children at 10 selected school sites throughout the municipality.
