Incorrect Contact Number
(Monday, September 11/2000)-- In a PSA issued on Friday, September 8th, regarding a recent sewage overflow into Morris Lake from a municipal pumping station, the contact telephone numbers provided to HRM for the Nova Scotia Department of the Environment were incorrect.
The PSA read: "Any resident who uses Morris Lake or the brook and/or has a well for drinking water in the immediate vicinity, should immediately contact the Halifax Regional Municipality at 490-6950 (or 490-4000 after hours), or the Nova Scotia Department of the Environment at 424-7773 (or 426-6030 after hours)."
In fact, residents are urged to call the correct contact number for the Department of the Environment at 424-5300. The numbers previously provided are emergency numbers only.
The contact numbers provided in the original PSA for HRM during regular business hours and after hours remain the same.
HRM apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused your media outlet, its readers, listeners or viewers.
Thanks you.
