New Show Focuses on Fire Prevention
(Wednesday, October 4/2000)-- To celebrate the first National Fire Prevention Week of the new millennium, the Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency Service is presenting "Fired Up at the Forum", a two-day, family-oriented event that will be both informative and entertaining.
Fired Up at the Forum will be held on Friday and Saturday, October 6th and 7th, at the Halifax Forum (corner of Windsor and Almon Streets). Doors will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The event will include interactive displays, live demonstrations, free public information seminars and the Firefighter Readiness Challenge. For a donation to the Metro Food Bank, the public can also take advantage of the free, fully- staffed child drop-off center.
Members of the media are invited to attend check-out the great displays and live demonstrations of fire prevention methods.
