Point Pleasant Park re-Opened to the Public
(Wednesday, December 13/2000)-- Point Pleasant Park has been re-opened again to the public.
However, the public is advised that municipal crews are still clearing some of the trees, limbs, branches and other debris that fell on some of the park roads as a result of the high winds yesterday and overnight.
Park users are reminded to use caution on the Park's paths and roads and are advised that some routes may be temporarily closed to the public in order to allow the Parks and Natural Services crews to complete their clean-up operations.
In the interests of public safety, HRM Parks and Natural Services issued an order Tuesday afternoon to close Point Pleasant Park. Gusting winds of more than 70 kms per hour swept throughout the Halifax Region yesterday and overnight.
