Public Input Sought on New By-Law for C and D Facilities
(Wednesday, January 17/2001)-- Officials of the Planning and Development and the Solid Waste Resource divisions will hold a news conference this morning to outline details of a public consultation process as a means of developing a By-law, respecting the licensing and regulation of C & D (construction and demolition materials) within HRM.
Licensing and regulation of C and D facilities is the final step in the overall implementation of HRM's Solid Waste Management Strategy. At present, the municipality has very little regulatory control over where these types of facilities may locate, and how they operate.
When: This morning (Wednesday, January 17/2001)
Time: 10:30 a.m.
Where: Halifax Hall, City Hall, 1841 Argyle Street, Halifax
