(Thursday, January 18/2001)--- Halifax Regional Municipality has agreed to a request to provide a temporary emergency information centre at its Chocolate Lake Recreation Center for tenants left homeless as a result of a recent Cowie Hill area apartment fire.

Tenants will be able to meet with representatives of the Nova Scotia Department of Community Services, Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Affairs (housing), the provincial Residential Tenancies Board, the Red Cross and other agencies at the center.

The media is asked to direct its inquiries regarding the tenants left homeless as a result of the fire Tuesday night at 36 Abbey Road to the Nova Scotia Department of Community Services.
