Municipal Equipment Display at Grand Parade

(Tuesday, May 22/2001)-- Millions of dollars worth of municipal service equipment will be on display this Thursday in Grand Parade, as part of Halifax Regional Municipality's celebration of National Public Works Week.

In addition, there will be a number of static displays available for viewing by the public that same day in Halifax Hall and the Trophy Room on the main level of City Hall, 1841 Argyle Street, Halifax.

Public Works and Transportation Services representatives will be on hand to demonstrate the equipment ( ie. street sweepers, sewer pumpers, backhoes, dump and plow trucks, etc) and to explain how the many municipal services are delivered to the public.

Crews will begin moving the heavy equipment and displays into place early Thursday morning and the pubic is invited to drop by and visit from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children,

accompanied by parents, and school groups are welcome.
