(Monday, June 11,2001 ) 4:30 pm -Halifax Regional Fire Services wishes to advise the public to use extreme caution when travelling around or near the Burnside Industrial Park area in Dartmouth this afternoon. A major fire is underway at the Scotia Recycling Plant on Thornhill Drive.
Heavy smoke in the area could be a hazard to motorists or pedestrians. The public is urged to stay away from the immediate area around Thornhill Drive and choose another route on the drive or commute home.
