Dutch Youth Group to pay tribute to Canadian Soldiers in Wreath Laying Ceremony
(Tuesday, July 31, 2001) - Mayor Peter Kelly will officially host a wreath laying ceremony at the Cenotaph in Grand Parade tomorrow, Wednesday, August 1st at 9:15 a.m. in conjunction with a visiting Youth Group from the Netherlands.
The group will lay a wreath to commemorate the liberation of Holland by Canadian soldiers during WWII. Mayor Kelly will also lay a wreath and host a reception in Halifax Hall, City Hall following the ceremony. War veterans from the N.S. Command, Royal Canadian Legion and other dignitaries will also be in attendance.
