Firefighters Respond to Downtown Dartmouth Blaze

(Friday, September 14, 2001-- 08:30 a.m.)-- Four families have been displaced as a result of an early morning fire at a four-unit rooming house at 189-91 Portland Street in Dartmouth.

Firefighters responded to a call at approximately 4:50 a.m. this morning and the fire was brought under control by 5:10 a.m. There were no injuries reported, but there was extensive damage to the second and third levels of the building.

Investigators are on-scene now to determine the cause of the blaze.
