Mayor Kelly to lead H.R.M. in Observation of a Three-Minute-Moment of Silence

(Friday, September 14, 2001-11:00 a.m.) Mayor Peter Kelly will lead H.R.M. citizens in the observation of Three Minutes of Silence at 1:20 p.m. in the Grand Parade Square, City Hall, to acknowledge the tragedy resulting from the Terrorist Attack in the United States earlier this week.

The Municipality's ceremony at City Hall will be held simultaneously in conjunction with tributes being paid at Province House and coast-to-coast, as Canadians take a moment to remember our neighbours in the United States. A Memorial Book will also be available for H.R.M. citizens to sign in the lobby of City Hall at 1841 Argyle Street.

Everyone is welcome to attend.

H.R.M. employees on the job throughout the municipality will also take time to acknowledge the Three Minutes of Silence at 1:20 p.m., including all Halifax Transit buses, which will pull off to the side of the road for the tribute.
