Cheticamp Weavers Present New HRM Coat-of-Arms
(Tuesday, December 11/2001)-- Mayor Peter Kelly will receive a hand-hooked version of the new Halifax Regional Municipality's official coat-of-arms, which was made by the world-famous craftspeople of Cheticamp, Cape Breton.
The new coat-of-arms will be incorporated into the new carpeting of Halifax Hall, City Hall. Both are a legacy gift from HRM's Millennium Committee.
Mayor Kelly will accept the gift from the craftspeople during a brief ceremony in his office tomorrow morning (Wednesday, December 12th) at 10:15 a.m.
