The delegation leaves Halifax International Airport tomorrow morning at 10:50 a.m. and will travel to Frankfurt, Germany, via Boston and Gander. They arrive in Europe in early morning on Wednesday, May 15th.
The christening ceremony at the Lufthansa headquarters and training centre outside Frankfurt is set for Thursday, May 16th, at 11 a.m. (Frankfurt time) or 6 a.m. (Halifax time) Please note time difference- Germany is 5 hours ahead of Halifax.
The delegation will be the guests of Lufthansa, the German national airline, at its Training Centre outside Frankfurt. The airline is sponsoring the entire visit to thank the people of HRM and Gander, who provided safe haven when passengers/crew on Lufthansa's trans-Atlantic flights were diverted to Halifax and Gander on September 11th.
