(Tuesday, June 18/2002)-- Employees of Halifax Regional Municipality will get their first glimpse of a new Diversity Logo and Slogan during the official unveiling ceremony in Grand Parade this Thursday.
The official diversity logo/slogan is the result of a contest held over the winter for employees of HRM. The employees were asked to submit their thoughts, drawings, ideas or concepts of what they thought would best symbolize and further promote diversity within the municipal workforce.
A panel of judges made selections from among the many entries and , those in turn, were forwarded to Kelsie Williams, a graphic artist with HRM Shared Services, who came up with five renderings of a logo/slogan for the final selection by the judges. The final design selected was not the result of a single submission, but a compilation of two or more thoughts, ideas or concepts from among the submissions.
Deputy Mayor Bob Harvey and George McLellan, Chief Administrative Officer, will unveil the winning design during a ceremony in Grand Parade on Thursday, June 20th, at 10 a.m. Representatives from the HRM various business units will be on hand for the unveiling.
When: Thursday, June 20, 2002
Time: 10 a.m.
Where: Grand Parade ( in case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in Halifax Hall)
