(Monday, July 8/2002)- Halifax Regional Municipality and EDM Environmental Design and Management Limited are holding a series of public meetings to encourage citizen input into the HRM Bike Plan. The first one is tonight.
The Plan will establish a strategy and specific projects to promote bicycling as a mode of transportation in HRM. The goal is to create a municipality where bicycling is a safe, appealing and efficient means of getting around.
The Bike Plan Study is seeking public consultation on projects, priorities, and policies to be included in the plan.
Public meetings will be held July 8-11 in various locations throughout HRM. Bicycle transportation planners from Canada and the USA will be on-hand to help facilitate the discussion.
