PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
SUMMERFEST AT GEORGE DIXON CENTRE THIS FRIDAY
(Wednesday, August 7/2002)-- The North End Council of Churches is sponsoring a Summerfest at the George Dixon Centre, 2502 Brunswick Street, Halifax, from 5 PM to 9 PM. this Friday, August 9th.
The event had been originally scheduled for July 20th, but had to be canceled due to inclement weather.
District 12 Councillor Dawn Sloane said "Sponsored by the Council of Churches and HRM's Parks and Recreation Services, this is a wonderful event for the community to attend. I believe that it highlights the community pride within our Central Halifax area"
Admission to the Summerfest is free, and a dunk tank, face painting and a barbeque are among the featured events.
Note: Councillor Sloane has volunteered to spend some time in the dunk tank during the event.
