(Friday, August 16/2002)-- Members of the media and the public are invited to attend the official opening of the new Community Policing Office at the Lawrencetown Fire Hall tomorrow ( Saturday, August 17, 2002) at 11:30 a.m.
The new office is part of an ongoing effort by the Halifax Regional Municipality to improve policing services in rural areas.
District 3 Councillor Keith Colwell extended his personal thanks to the RCMP for making the establishment of the new Community Policing Office possible.
Councillor Colwell said " I am looking forward to working with the RCMP to improve the Community Office service. I encourage residents to drop in and speak to the RCMP officers and to bring local concerns to their attention."
